snare rolls.
snare rolls writes 4, 8 or 16 bar snare rolls at your project tempo, with the filter sweep, reverb swell and pitch rise already done, then hands them to your daw as audio or midi.
why we make plugins.
we make plugins around simple ideas. each one takes a single job that comes up in almost every session and gets it done in seconds, so you can get back to the part of the track you actually care about.
you know the moment. you can hear exactly what the track needs, and then you spend the next twenty minutes building it by hand. drawing notes one at a time, clicking in automation point by point, nudging the same settings you nudged last week. by the time it works, the idea that got you excited has gone cold. it could have been done before you finished the thought.
that's the kind of time we want to give back. we look for the things producers dial in manually over and over, and we turn each one into a few knobs that get you there right away. you set it, you hear it, you drag it into your track and keep moving.
our plugins are straightforward on purpose. no menus inside menus, no settings you'll never touch, no pages of features that only look good in a screenshot. every control on the panel has to earn its spot. if it doesn't help you finish music faster, we leave it out.
simple doesn't have to mean boring, though. you still get chunky knobs, a screen that shows exactly what's happening, and sounds that are ready for a mix. every plugin we make is built this way.

it writes the snare roll before your drop. pick a snare, choose the length, and it climbs in speed, pitch and intensity right up to the one.

level meter.
stereo output level in black and white game boy segments, with peak hold and a clip light.
- 2
snare select.
13 built-in snares, from a classic 808 to breathy and destroyed. pick one from the snare browser or step through with the arrows; each plays as you land on it. drop a wav, aiff or flac anywhere to load your own.
- 3
bars.
how long the build is: 4, 8 or 16 bars, locked to your project tempo.
- 4
roll display.
every hit as a bar, with the rising effect lines drawn over it. it cheers when a roll reaches the top.
- 5
play.
plays the roll. any midi note plays it too, and it stops when your daw's transport stops.
- 6
drag to daw.
drag the roll out as a 24-bit wav of exactly what you hear, or as midi with automation lanes for any sampler.
- 7
roll.
speed from 1/4 to 1/32 notes (an optional auto mode steps it up halfway), pitch that stays put or rises up to 12 semitones, velocity with crescendo, and human, which makes random hits quieter so it sounds played. reroll deals a new variation.
- 8
hp filter.
holds back until the end of the build, then sweeps the low end out and hits its peak right on the drop. amount sets how far, rate shapes the sweep.
- 9
tension.
swells a big reverb, dotted-eighth echoes and a little grit as the roll rises.
- 10
lp open.
starts the roll muffled and opens it up. start sets the first cutoff, rate how fast it opens.
- 11
swing.
pushes every second hit late, up to half a step, for a shuffled roll.
snare rolls in 17 seconds.
why snare rolls.
you know the moment. the drop is four bars away and you're drawing a snare roll in by hand. note by note, velocity by velocity. then you automate a filter, then a reverb send, then you nudge the pitch so it climbs. twenty minutes later the roll works, but the idea that got you excited has gone cold.
snare rolls does that whole build in one go. pick a snare and a length, set how hard it climbs, and the roll is ready, with the filters, the reverb swell and the pitch rise already in it. drag it into your track and you're back to the drop.

Rolling Plugins Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Rolling Plugins ("we", "us") collects through this website and our plugins, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We keep it short because we collect very little.
What we collect
We only collect what you choose to send us:
- Newsletter. If you sign up for our newsletter or the launch notice card, we receive your email address and whether you asked to be told when Snare Rolls is released.
- Support messages. If you use the support form, we receive your name (if you give it), your email address, the topic you pick and your message.
How we use it
We use your newsletter email only to send you news from Rolling Plugins, such as new plugins, updates and release announcements. We use support messages only to answer you and fix problems you report. We do not sell, rent or share your information with anyone for marketing, and we do not add support contacts to any mailing list.
Our plugins
Snare Rolls and our other plugins do not collect personal data, track how you use them, or send your projects, audio or settings anywhere. Everything stays on your computer.
Cookies and tracking
This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies and does not track you across other sites. After you sign up for a launch notice, your browser remembers that you did (in its local storage) so the card shows as sent next time. That stays on your device and you can clear it at any time in your browser settings.
Services we use
The website is hosted by Netlify, which also receives the forms you submit and keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses, for security and to run the service. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google's servers. These providers handle that data under their own privacy policies.
How long we keep it
We keep newsletter emails until you ask us to stop sending news or to delete them. We keep support messages for as long as we need them to help you, and then delete them.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us at any time to show you, correct or delete the information we hold about you, or to stop emailing you. Send the request through the support page and we will act on it promptly. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA, including the right to complain to a data protection authority.
Security
Forms are sent over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and only Rolling Plugins can read what you submit. No system is perfectly secure, but we limit what we collect so there is little to protect.
Children
This website is not aimed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will say so on this website.

Snare Rolls End User License Agreement
This agreement is between you and Rolling Plugins ("we", "us"). It covers the Snare Rolls software, including its VST3, AU and standalone versions, its built-in sounds, any updates we provide, and its documentation (together, "the Software"). By installing or using the Software you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use it.
License
When you buy or are given a license, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the Software on up to two computers that you own or control, to create, record, perform and produce audio. The Software is licensed to you, not sold.
Your music is yours
Audio and MIDI you make with the Software, including rolls rendered with the built-in snares and files you drag into your DAW, are yours to use, release and sell as part of your own music and media. This is royalty-free and needs no credit.
What you may not do
You may not:
- copy, share, rent, lend, sell or sublicense the Software or your license;
- extract the built-in snare sounds and distribute them on their own or as part of a sample pack, sound library, preset bank or another instrument, free or paid;
- reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the Software, except where the law allows this despite this limit;
- remove or work around any licensing or copy protection;
- use the Software or its sounds to train machine-learning models;
- remove our name, logos or copyright notices.
Sounds you load
You can load your own audio files into the Software. You are responsible for having the rights to anything you load and anything you release with it.
Ownership
We and our licensors own the Software, its code, sounds and design, and the Rolling Plugins and Snare Rolls names and logos. Everything not expressly granted to you in this agreement stays with us.
Updates and support
We may release updates and fixes. They are covered by this agreement unless they come with new terms. We are not required to provide updates or support, but we aim to keep the Software working with current versions of macOS and major DAWs.
Privacy
The Software does not collect personal data or send your projects anywhere. If you sign up on our website for a launch notice, we use your email address only to tell you about Rolling Plugins releases, we do not sell or share it, and we will delete it if you ask.
Transferring your license
You may transfer your license once to another person if you remove every copy from your computers, the new owner agrees to this agreement, and you tell us so we can move the license.
No warranty
The Software is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Keep backups of your projects.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data, profits or revenue, arising from your use of or inability to use the Software. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for your license. Nothing in this agreement limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
Ending this agreement
This license ends automatically if you break these terms. When it ends you must stop using the Software and delete every copy. Sections 2, 5, 9, 10 and 12 continue to apply after it ends, and music you made while licensed stays yours.
General
This is the entire agreement between you and us about the Software. If any part cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a term right away, we have not given up the right to. This agreement is governed by the laws of the country where Rolling Plugins is established, unless the consumer protection laws of your country require otherwise. We may change these terms for future versions of the Software; the terms that came with your version apply to it.
